Four Winds Gallery is excited to announce the opening of our next exhibition, Guardian Spirit!

New and retrospective works by ceramicist Roxanne Swentzell, woodworker Mira Nakashima, and metalsmith Carol Krena will be presented in our Walnut Street gallery on October 22-23, 2010. The exhibition is a first time collaboration, featuring an assembly of career-spanning pieces. The skills of each artist illuminate the personalities of each piece of wood, metal, stone and bit of clay, letting forms arise in their adept hands. This honoring of material and tradition moves beyond the functional limits of furniture, figural sculpture, and jewelry. We are honored to have the opportunity to share their illuminating work, and hope to see you there!

Four Winds Gallery is proud to announce the recent acquisition of a large collection of stunning George Nakashima furniture. Pictured here is a Free Edge Coffee Table in English Walnut. This piece is classic example of George's later work with the stunning wood grain, organic free edges and gorgeous burled texture.

In conjunction with the acquisition of this new collection and the August 31st - October 28th Nakashima Revealed Exhibition at Carnegie Mellon University, Four Winds Gallery is hosting An Evening With Mira Nakashima, the current Artistic and Business Director of the Nakashima legacy.
